长江村在高岗镇北端，离镇中心约4公里，北边隔界与英德市东华镇为邻，西南方向与宝山村、墩下村接壤[1]。村中共33个村民小组，面积20.64平方千米，林木覆盖率达到68%左右[1][2]。

地名由来[edit]

村子是沿长江河往下数的首个村落，两岸合共10个村，水路颇长，故名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

该村1951年称长江乡，1959年改为大队，1983年底恢复为乡，1987年初设村委会；1990年代前期为管理区，1998年又设村委会，2005年4月同礼溪村委会合在一起[1]。

产业与自然[edit]

林地约1462.9公顷，以松树居多，松香产业有发展条件[2]。坑尾石场出产大型石块，形状多样，颇受市场欢迎[2]。省道252线几乎穿过所有自然村，在村内的里程约占全镇该线的一半[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，长江村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建名单[1]。
