长江村在长田镇北部，南靠长田圩镇，北接长安村，东北与大柘、热柘两镇相邻。全村分5个村民小组，共285户998人，其中有劳动力610人；党员28人，长年在外务工的210人。[1][2]
村里耕地935亩（水田占768亩），另有山地1800多亩，收入来自种植和养殖。村里发展油茶，引进老板在好大、江子两处建了千亩油茶基地，还种优质稻和仙人掌，养猪、牛、羊、兔。[2]
地名由来与沿革[edit]
村境内有几条狭长的小溪贯穿全村，因此得名。[1]
建国时称长江乡。1953至1958年，它和长安同属安岗乡。1958年一分为三，即长安、长江、甲背三个大队；长江和甲背随后合并，接着又并入长安，统称围里生产大队。恢复乡的建制在1983年，村民委员会在1987年设立。1989年，长江、长安各自成为管理区；现名长江村民委员会是1999年4月起使用的。[1]
