村的前身是1958年组建的古城生产大队。乡级人民政府在1983年于此设立，1988年转为管理区办事处，村委会则在1999年建立。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2023年4月，古城村列入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单。[1]

2023年10月，古城村被确定为「2023年度阳江市卫生村」。[1]
