董源村是东水镇下辖的行政村。村名中的「源」字取水之意，水源头在软坑村，而软坑村解放后即属董源辖区，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1941年起直至解放初，董源归东水乡。1952年设桥源乡，统辖董源、软坑、新桥、澄村四村；1958年改为桥源管理区；1962年成立董源大队；1983年改为董源乡（管辖董源、软坑）；1987年称董源管理区办事处；1999年5月起称董源村村民委员会。[1]

文化[edit]

2024年3月，董源村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
