软坑村是东水镇下辖的行政村，因该地土质松软而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国二十年，软坑归董源乡（保）。1941年至解放初，归东水乡。1952年归桥源乡，1958年归桥源管理区，1962年划为董源大队的一部分，1983年归董源乡。1987至1989年间隶属董源管理区办事处；1989年11月自董源分出，另设软坑管理区办事处。1999年5月起称软坑村村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，软坑村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2024年3月，该村被命名为「2023年广东省卫生村」。[1]
