鹤湖村是元善镇下辖的行政村，村名与古时的鹤鸟有关。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

相传古时此地环境优美，古木参天，常有成群的鹤鸟栖息，村名因此为鹤湖。[1]

新中国成立之初，鹤湖与密溪、东联同属溪湖乡。溪湖乡此后拆分，三村各自独立。1960年设鹤湖大队，之后先后改称鹤湖乡、鹤湖管理区，1999年定名鹤湖村。[1]

2026年3月，鹤湖村获评第三批广东省“百千万工程”典型村镇。[1]
