桂林村是义都镇下辖的行政村，义都河发源于这一带的山地。相传村落由元末明初一支起义军的后人聚居而成。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名资料转述一则传说：陈友谅在鄱阳湖兵败身亡（元末明初）后，他的一支部队自赣南转到龙川，在嶅山与桂林一带又坚持了三年，战败后士兵大多就地安家，村落渐渐形成，名称由此而来。[1]

解放前，桂林归河源县管辖；1949年之后按水流方向改属义都乡，立桂林村。村级建制随后几经更替：桂林大队（1958年）、桂林乡（1983年）、村委会（1987年）、管理区（1989年），1999年恢复村委会，延续至今。[1]

经济[edit]

农业农村部在2020年11月认定桂林村属第十批全国「一村一品示范村镇」，产业为茶叶。[1] 镇的资料也提到桂林一带有茶园。[2]

荣誉[edit]

桂林村曾获龙川县2020年度文明村镇称号（2021年4月）；2026年1月又被评为「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」。[1]
