新龙村是紫金县瓦溪镇的行政村，村名与塘背村旁形似巨龙的山有关。[1]

地名由来[edit]

博雅地名网记载，辖区内塘背村边有座山，形状像一条龙，顺着秋香江而下，旧时按地形叫「川龙」，1949年后改称新龙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新龙在1958年称新龙大队，归九和公社，1961年转属瓦溪公社。其建制后来依次变为乡（1983年）、村委会（1987年）、管理区（1989年），1999年撤管理区，改回村委会。[1]

荣誉与建设[edit]

新龙村屡次入选创建名单：2019年9月进入2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位；河源市文明委于2021年1月授予它2020年度市文明村；2022年8月，它再被定为2022年度同类创建单位；2023年4月，又在省乡村治理示范村（2022年度）创建单位之列。[1]

2023年，镇里推进新龙的有机肥加工等项目；2024年，在新龙打造「美丽农村路」。[2][3]
