西南村是西南镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的西北方，湖新公路横穿村域。村内下辖四个自然村，是一个以农业为主的山区村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明代以来村民在此开垦田地，其后分散的居民点连成一村。[1]

1949年，此地设西坑乡，归第九区（大安区）管辖。1961年成为西南大队，直属大安公社，到1974年才划入西南公社。[1]

1987年，建为西南村委会，隶西南乡；1994年转为西南管理区，归西南镇；1999年重设村委会，名称至今未变。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年广东省卫生村名单于2023年5月公布，西南村位列其中。[1]
