八万社区是广东省汕尾市陆丰市八万镇的社区，居委会设在八万镇政府所在地，下分两个居民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区名即镇名。博雅地名网记载，元末明初这里有「百万里社群祀会」和「葫芦群祀会」，得「葫芦百万」之称，「百」「八」音近，久而久之叫成八万。[1]

1959年为八万公社下的八万大队；1983年改乡，隶八万区；1987年设居委会，归八万镇；1994年一度称八万管理区，1999年复为居委会；2002年定名八万社区居委会。[1]

人口经济[edit]

该处载有居民约2900人。博雅地名网称它是陆丰市最偏僻的社区居委会，居民多靠外出打工谋生，地方希望引进外来资金办厂、发展手工业。[1]
