半径社区在甲子镇海滨公路东段以北，东近甲东大桥，西隔一条路是东湖社区，北面与惠来县览表镇相邻。[1]

概况[edit]

辖区约1.56平方公里，有3675户、16120人，其中常住约8700人。居民有原住居民、农民和渔民，也有来自惠来及甲东、甲西等地的外来户，社区介绍称它是全市社会治理的重点社区。耕地122.93亩，计水田15亩、山林地10亩、荒地37.93亩、旱地60亩，其余为居住用地。[1]

2021年社区两委换届，吸收大学生村官、返乡毕业党员和退伍军人，两委干部平均年龄由57.8岁降到40.2岁。社区内有七圣仙娘庙，被介绍为文化古迹。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

土改时它隶属东径社；1961年划入两东农业大队，1975年自立半径渔业大队，1983年又并入两东居民区。1987年与东湖合设东径居委会，三年后（1990年3月）从中分出，成立半径居委会。1994年叫管理区，1999年恢复居委会，2002年起为半径社区居委会。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，获广东省爱卫会授予的2020年广东省卫生村称号。[2]
