高塘村位于水唇镇中部，共16个自然村，如汤排、官仓、牛角垅、高塘寨、黄塘寨、溪口、坪下等。[1]2020年11月，它被授予「第六届全国文明村镇」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，这里属仑径乡；1958年起叫黄塘大队，1962年才改称高塘大队。之后依次是乡人民政府（1984年3月）、村委会（1986年）、管理区（1990年），1999年起称高塘村民委员会。[2]

人口与建设[edit]

镇政府网站载面积17平方千米，896户5361人，常住2923人；博雅地名网引述的较早资料是面积约12平方千米，670多户3800多人。[1][2]村里编制过新农村建设总体规划，曾获省“文明村”“卫生村”等称号。[2]

荣誉方面：2019年9月，列入2018年「广东省‘民主法治示范村（社区）’创建单位」；同年12月入选「第一批国家森林乡村」；2020年11月又获「第六届全国文明村镇」。[2]镇政府的介绍还提到过投资5亿元的汤排温泉度假山庄项目，汤排是本村的自然村之一。[1][3]
