水唇社区是陆河县水唇镇镇政府所在的社区，位于镇的中心，一带是水唇圩。[1][2]镇政府网站的最新介绍称，社区面积约0.68平方千米，户籍人口2187人，划成9个片区和7个网格管理。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

“唇”有边缘的意思，驻地地势低洼，又在河边，因此得名水唇。[3]居委会最初于1989年成立，叫水唇镇居委会；到1999年更名，此后一直是水唇社区居委会。[3]

人口与设施[edit]

镇政府网站先后给出过不同的数字：较早的介绍写面积0.8平方千米，常住11500人，共1680户，片区有祥和一至六街、东兴路、龙湖小区和向阳小区；[2]较新的介绍写常住10729人，合2365户。[1]

社区内设有吉溪小学和水唇中学，还有车站、广播站、文化广场与综合市场，主要街道已绿化。[2][3]工业方面有玻璃厂、金属制品厂和食品饮料厂，农产品则是香菜、枇杷与山药。[2]
