新北村在海丰县南部，属附城镇，面向县城、背靠鹿境山，是一个蔡姓单姓大村，彭湃之妻蔡素屏出生于此。[1][2]

人口与历史[edit]

村有450户，9个村民小组，常住约2500人，旅居港澳和国外者约7000多人，被称为侨乡。蔡氏祖先于明代1406年自福建莆田迁来，村中有占地一千多平方米的祠堂。[1]

人物[edit]

蔡素屏（1897—1928）原名哲妹，生于新北村，1926年入党，出任过海丰县妇女解放协会主任；其故居在新北村。[2]

建设与荣誉[edit]

海外乡亲捐建占地2000平方米的新北小学。村曾被评为省“文明村”“卫生村”和社会主义新农村建设示范村。[1] 2024年4月，新北村入选汕尾市“百千万工程”典型村。[3]
