碗窑村在赤石镇东北部，面积23.4平方千米，村委会驻王京埔，离集镇约8公里；博雅地名网称它是革命老区。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村子于明成化元年（1465年）立村。1950年属第四区赤石乡，1972年自大安大队分出，设碗窑大队。1984年为赤石区公所碗窑乡，1987年改赤石镇碗窑村委会，1989年称管理办事处，1998年复设村委会。[1]

地理与经济[edit]

村分大水口、王京埔、大坑里、角仔里、碗窑5个村民小组，共697人，耕地1768亩，山地2.54万亩。种稻、番薯、葛薯、花生，兼种西番莲、蜜柚、柑橘和竹，养猪养牛；王京埔水库库容10万立方米。[1][2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村内有一处据称建于400多年前的碗窑遗址。[2]
