名称与沿革[edit]

此村1949年以前叫马步村。新中国成立初，它与东郭顶村组建农会，各取一字，合称“步东”。[1]最初隶属大村大队，1980年前分出，立“步车”一队；管理区之名自1983年起用；至1999年，才由村委会取而代之。[1]

荣誉[edit]

步东村是2017年10月评出的首批广东省卫生村之一。[1]
