村名因其位于七目嶂山下而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放后头一年为嶂下乡，1958年改作大队，1989年设管理区，1999年起由村委会管理，沿用到现在。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，嶂下村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位名单」；2020年8月，以嶂下小茶叶入选「首批广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」。[1]
