据博雅地名网所载：1963年起叫作大山背大队；此后1983年起叫作大山背管理区；随后1986年起叫作大山背村民委员会；再后来1999年经丰顺县人民政府批准设立大山背村民委员会。[3]
荣誉：2019年9月，大山背村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单；在2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
