湖镇社区是广东省惠州市博罗县湖镇镇下辖的社区，城乡分类为镇中心区；2002年起称社区居民委员会。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区所在的老圩镇，地名的传说是这样的：唐代有一位皇姑出巡江南，行至此地病逝，当地人依宾礼厚葬；朝廷得知后赐建一城，城的四周为湖水环绕，形同一座小镇，湖镇之名由此而来。[1]

1949年以前，这里在清代由善政巡司署管辖，后来划在八区八德乡内。新中国成立后，先是四区下的湖镇乡（1949年10月），再改入八区（1952年7月）；1955年10月，湖镇乡并进响水区，次年11月又单独成乡。人民公社化时期，新作塘人民公社于1958年10月设立，湖镇管理区是它的一部分，到1973年改由新分出的湖镇人民公社管理。其后行政区划变为区、镇两级：1983年11月归湖镇区管辖，1986年1月改归湖镇镇。居民委员会在2002年定名为湖镇社区居民委员会。[1]
