地名由来[edit]
据族中传说，始祖细六郎赶鸭子经过沙河，见四周旷野里突起一座形如元宝的山冈，取名元冈；20世纪60年代改称银江村，80年代又改为银岗村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明清时期归典史署，民国时期属第十一区英勇乡，新中国成立初期属一区苏礼龙乡，1956年11月起并入宁和乡。1958年隶龙溪人民公社，1973年7月设银岗大队，1983年11月起改称乡，1986年1月起叫管理区，1999年起改为银岗村民委员会。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
银岗古窑场遗址在村境内，属西周、春秋至战国时期，窑场占地10万平方米。文物普查于20世纪80年代发现了它，之后在1996年至2003年间屡次发掘，揭露面积约3000平方米，清理龙窑4座（1999年发掘）及灰沟、灰坑等，出土完整陶器600余件，另有青铜器、铁器、石器和制陶工具。[2]地层叠压关系显示，夔纹陶类遗存早于米字纹陶类遗存。[2]2000年3月公布为县级文物保护单位，2002年7月公布为广东省文物保护单位，2011年列入广东省首批大遗址。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2024年3月，村里获评「2023年广东省卫生村」；2019年9月，进入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
