汶朗镇在怀集县东北部，距县城约13公里，北邻洽水镇，东接凤岗镇，西连连麦镇，南面与怀城街道、甘洒镇相接，面积86.16平方千米，辖5个行政村。[1][3]镇名来自镇政府所在的汶朗圩，圩集于1930年形成，位于汶塘与草朗两村之间。[2]镇内出产的汶朗蜜柚是国家地理标志保护产品。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网所录，汶朗在1947年设乡；中华人民共和国成立初期属怀集县第三区，1958年归东方红人民公社管辖；汶朗人民公社于1960年另立，到1983年改建区，1987年改称乡，1992年12月撤乡设镇。[2]

镇名取自汶朗圩。该圩在1930年形成集市，因夹在汶塘村和草朗村之间，两村各取一字得名。[2]

地理环境[edit]

汶朗镇位于怀集县东北部，东西南北分别与凤岗镇、连麦镇、怀城街道及甘洒镇、洽水镇相邻。[1]一份镇概况记载，镇域有丰富的石灰岩资源，另有水力、钨矿和铁矿，历来以出产石灰为主，后来又发展建筑碎石和水泥生产。[3]同一份概况记年平均气温20.5℃，年降雨量1800至2300毫米，无霜期约320天；坡度25度以下的坡地多为红壤和沙质土，土层较厚。[3]

人口[edit]

汶朗镇的常住人口在第七次全国人口普查（2020年）中为10036人。[1]较早的镇概况（所记经济数字截至2000年末）称全镇有84个自然村、2208户、13382人。[3]

经济[edit]

2018年，汶朗镇农业总产值2.93亿元，比上年增长8%；规上工业增加值完成1680万元，增幅8.1%。[1]按上述概况，2000年末全镇工业产值7241万元，农业产值7966万元，建筑业830万元，运输业800万元。[3]

汶朗蜜柚是镇上最有名的产品，果形似葫芦或梨，果顶常有铜钱状的印环，俗称“金钱印”。[4]原国家质检总局在2015年12月4日批准保护其地理标志产品。[4]2019年，农业农村部公布的第九批“一村一品”示范村镇中有汶朗镇，主打产品是汶朗蜜柚。[1]其他土特产有汶塘鱼、贡柑、夏橙、山楂、板栗、笋竹等。[3]

镇内还设有广东省第一监狱。[3]

荣誉[edit]

2023年10月，汶朗镇获肇庆市卫生镇称号；2024年3月，又被命名为2023年度的广东省卫生乡镇；2026年3月，认定为第三批广东省“百千万工程”典型村镇。[2]

城镇建设[edit]

镇概况称，墟镇主要街道长约1800米，已水泥硬底化并装有路灯；镇委、镇府自1994年起按新规划建设墟镇，沿过境公路和中心街道两侧发展商铺与住宅。2000年7月建成汶朗大桥，墟镇进一步扩大。[3]
