山田社区在广东省肇庆市鼎湖区桂城街道内，沿国道321线分布，面积约2平方千米，设9个村民小组，约有880名居民。村名取自它的地势：背后是北岭山，四周环着农田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代洪武年间，谭姓人家从肇庆府城迁来，建起此村。[2]

1970年，山田与桂峰合并为团结大队，1983年改称团结乡，1986年恢复山田之名，设山田村民委员会，归广利镇管。1989年成为山田管理区。1992年12月它脱离广利，改称山田居委会，隶桂城街道办事处，2002年4月称山田社区居委会。[2]

经济[edit]

往东到广州约85千米，往西到肇庆端州区约23千米，国道和三茂铁路都经过这里。[1]社区把一处3000平方米的厂房租给合兴塑料印刷厂和顺美软管塑料厂，增加集体收入；农业以花卉、水果等经济作物为主，农户另外分散养母猪。[1]
