历史沿革[edit]
宋代时陈姓人家从南雄来此定居；到了元代，谢姓人家又从端州迁来。此地原名桂岭乡，之后叫水坑村。[2]
1957年与水坑一各自独立。人民公社时期叫水坑二大队，隶广利公社；到1983年成乡，1986年改设村民委员会，隶广利镇，1988年3月转入鼎湖区。1989年有了水坑二管理区的名称，1992年12月从广利镇划到桂城街道办事处，称水坑二居委会，2002年再改叫水坑二社区居民委员会。[2]
经济[edit]
耕地共2360亩：香蕉1200亩、鱼塘660亩、水稻400亩。[1]集体物业有约4500平方米的出租厂房、一座1600平方米的肉菜中心市场连26间商铺，以及2幢商业楼。[1]
