思贺社区于2010年9月13日设立定名[1]。2019年9月，它被列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」[1]。

名称由来[edit]

据说境内有两座形似狮子的山峰，峰间河水奔流有声，起初叫“狮嚎”，后用当地方言的谐音写成“思贺”；该来源称“思”在古越语里指村寨、“贺”指听到声响，合起来是“能听到响声的村寨”[2]。
