朋候村是信宜市思贺镇辖下的行政村，在镇域中南部，村域4.89平方公里、耕地1074.3亩，分6个村民小组[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
民国初年隶朋候甲；1961年与大榔一带分设，另立大队；1983年改设乡政府，1987年起为村民委员会，1991年一度叫管理区办事处，1999年复称朋候村民委员会并沿用至今[1]。
名称由来[edit]
明朝初年，陈姓汉人从罗定迁来，看中此处，因地形像一头牛，先称“崩牛”，新中国成立后建政时去掉“崩”字的山字头，并以近音的“候”代“牛”，成为“朋候”[2]。
人口[edit]
