地名由来[edit]

村子坐落在山坳里，位置相对偏僻，故称坳垌。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属林垌乡十六堡；新中国成立后立坳垌乡，1950年与榃棉并为湘榃乡，1961年再分出，立坳垌大队。此后经乡政府、管理区办事处等阶段，1999年起称村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，该村获广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号；2019年9月，列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
