平田村是广东省茂名市信宜市茶山镇下辖的行政村，位于茶山镇西南部，辖11个村民小组，在册281户、1293人，全村面积5.3平方千米，耕地821亩。[1]

名称由来[edit]

这里地势平坦，后来村民来此开垦耕种，辟出许多新田，因而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国初年的1913年属十二堡；此后成立过平田乡合作社（1952年），1963年分出。1983年设乡，1986年起设村民委员会，1999年定名平田村民委员会，此名沿用至今。[1]

经济[edit]

平田山多田少，村民种三华李和南蕉，村的特色收入来自南蕉，人均种南蕉一项收入达2000多元；另种油甘子、大糖梨和沙梨。据博雅地名网，上一年全村农村经济总收入为1551万元。[1]
