播扬镇是广东省茂名市化州市北部的一个镇，东有宝圩镇，南有那务镇，西有平定镇，北面隔着省界是广西壮族自治区北流市的六靖镇和清湾镇，面积125.9平方千米。[1]按2020年6月的区划，下设1个社区和14个行政村。[1]镇名取自播扬圩，圩名据传由「婆扬圩」谐音而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1932年，这一带设播扬、文水（后改称文江）、江佩等乡，隶属化县第六区。自1937年到1953年3月，这里只有播扬、文江两乡，所属的区几经变动，先后是第三、第二、北、第七四个区，均属化县。[4]

1953年3月，三个乡（播扬、文江、宝圩）合为一体，设化县第十二区，区政府驻播扬的柳村，辖10个乡，含文龙、平太、江佩、马站、院田、播扬、良山等。1958年区、乡合并，改设播扬人民公社；宝圩、调马、巷口三乡则分出去，另成新设的宝圩人民公社。[4]

1961年9月，两个公社并成播扬区；到1963年1月又取消区，恢复为播扬、宝圩两个公社。公社制度结束于1983年10月，当时改称播扬区；1987年区建制撤销，播扬镇由此设立。[1][4]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网所载传说，明代这里已是广东、广西两省邻近地带的商品集散地，一位老妇人在此开客店，待客周到，远近知名，成圩之后便以她为名，称「婆扬圩」，后来「婆」字改用谐音的「播」，遂成今名。[2]

地理环境[edit]

播扬镇位于化州市北部，面积125.9平方千米，在化州市各街道乡镇中居第7位。[1][2]气候属亚热带季风气候。[1]镇情介绍称，境内有化州境内最高的山峰斑瓜铁屎嶂，还有万亩森林的扶荫地和斋公岭，具备开发旅游的条件。[3]百度百科将扶荫地风景区列为镇内著名景点。[1]

2019年末，全镇户籍人口62784人。[1]第七次全国人口普查（2020年）的结果，博雅地名网记为3.86万人，在化州市各街道乡镇中排第17位。[2]

镇情介绍称，播扬是省工业卫星镇，也是两广交界一带乡镇边贸物资的集散地；竹编是镇上最有特色的支柱产业，有富鑫、永盛、强盛等8家规模较大的竹器工艺厂，以及200多个纺织专业村，从业人员1.5万多人，因此有「竹器之乡」之称。农业方面，已建成六个万亩生产基地，分别种药材、丰产林、水竹、蚕桑、香蕉和无核荔枝。公路方面，省道梅石线和县道播扬平线贯穿全境，镇里还建有镇级千亩工业园。[3]

百度百科所列2019年数据：本级财政收入139万元（税收44.8万元，非税收入94.2万元），规模以上工业的增加值为7204万元，固定资产投资总额19658万元。[1]
