据博雅地名网所载，名称依次为：红山大队（1962年）、红山乡（1983年）、红山村民委员会（1987年）、红山管理区办事处（1989年），1999年起复称村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
村民委员会自述（未注年份）：在册645户、3475人，村域面积4.2平方千米，耕地1483亩；种植的经济作物以水稻、丰产林、香蕉为主，上一年农村经济总收入863万元。村里着力发展水稻、丰产林和香蕉种植。[1]
