据博雅地名网所载村情，全村登记782户、3987人，面积1.8平方公里，耕地1259亩；年平均气温约22摄氏度，年降雨量约1800毫米，属南亚热带季风气候。[1]

种植水稻、玉米、红薯、花生和北运菜等；村情页给出的农村经济总收入是7635万元，指“上一年”，具体年份未注明。[1]

村名旧作犀湾，改称西湾管理区在1989年。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国后期属化县第一区南安乡。后来1957年归同庆区南安公社。后来1963年入长岐人民公社，设犀湾大队。后来1983年称犀湾乡。1987年改称犀湾村民委员会。后来1989年起称西湾管理区办事处，1999年定名西湾村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月榜上有名，列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」；2021年12月由广东省爱卫会授予「2021年广东省卫生村」。[1]
