博雅地名网称，村里泥潭多，故名潭村[1]。
历史沿革[edit]
潭村大队在土改期间归湖水乡；1961年体制下放时成立潭村大队，此后1983年改为乡、1986年改为农村管理区，1999年起由村民委员会管理[1]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年12月获评2021年广东省卫生村。[1]
