官垌村属广东省茂名市高州市根子镇，是镇下设的行政村。传说从前有一户姓官的人家迁居于此，儿子考中状元做了大官，举家迁往他处；后来林姓人家来此落户，盼望子孙同样中状元做大官，沿用此名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年与根子、到湾、公垌等大队合为四合一大队，1960年体制下放后分出，成立官垌大队。其后的名称是：1983年称官垌乡，1986年称官垌农村管理区，至1999年定为官垌村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
