旧田村属广东省茂名市高州市根子镇，是镇下设的行政村。据说彭姓人家从化州分支来此立村，当地山林稠密、地势不平，只有一丘旧时留下的田，因称旧田。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
旧田在1958年公社成立时为旧田大队，1960年体制下放，分出旧田、周垌两个大队，1963年两队合并，统称周垌大队。其后的名称是：1983年称旧田乡，1986年称旧田农村管理区，至1999年定为旧田村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 2021年12月，被授予「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
