公垌村属广东省茂名市高州市根子镇，是镇下设的行政村。村门前有一片大田垌，由几个村共同拥有，故称公垌。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
公垌在1958年随人民公社化划入四合一大队，1960年才独立为公垌大队，1963年东坑大队并入，仍用公垌之名。其后的名称是：1983年称公垌乡，1986年称公垌农村管理区，至1999年定为公垌村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
