历史沿革[edit]

1949年前，这里以解放村为单位，设根子乡与根子上乡。1958年建人民公社，曾与分界、泗水公社合成红旗公社，1960年分开后另立根子、高田两个人民公社，1962年高田并入，合称根子公社。此后1983年设根子区，1986年12月成立根子镇，社区居民委员会随之设立，沿用至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，成为2018年度广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
