村名的由来是以前村内的石头呈白色，成片分布。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

该村原与连塘大队同属一个大队，1961年分出，单独设立一个大队；1975年村庄迁往富基窝；1983年起称白石坡乡；白石坡农村管理区一名始于1986年；1999年改由村民委员会管理，至今未变。[1]
