名称由来[edit]

相传古时有一名山贼被官兵追到此地，面部被砍伤，称为「破面」，后谐音改作铺面。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1961年设生产大队，1983年先称铺面管理区，随后称铺面乡；1986年起为铺面农村管理区；1999年改由村民委员会管理，至今未变。[1]

2019年12月，该村列入第一批国家森林乡村；2019年9月和2020年12月，又先后进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单（后一次为2020年名单）。[1]
