种植的作物主要是荔枝、龙眼、水稻、四季豆、果蔗、莲藕、辣椒。发展思路为：以农业、养殖业为主，种植四季豆、果蔗、莲藕，也养猪、养鱼。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年时叫塘肚乡；1958年时叫塘肚生产大队；1983年又叫塘肚乡；1987年时叫塘肚村委会；1989年时叫塘肚管理区；1999年起叫塘肚村委会；沿用至今。[1]
