该社区的名称于1987年经电白县人民政府批准确定，此后一直沿用[1]。
经济[edit]
据该页介绍，村内年均气温约22摄氏度，年降水量2200毫米上下；种植的作物主要是荔枝、龙眼、花生、水稻、红薯等[1]。突出的收入项目为荔枝、龙眼和对虾，上一年全村农村经济总收入记为1221万元[1]。村集体把山岭和虾（鱼）塘发包出去，收取承包金作为集体收入[1]。
