新洲村是电白区沙院镇的一个行政村，早年叫新江：原为新江乡（1953年），次为新江生产大队（1958年）；1983年改名新洲乡，1987年称村委会，1989年称管理区，1999年再称村委会，之后沿用。广东省爱卫会于当年岁末的2021年12月，授予它「2021年广东省卫生村」的荣誉。[1]
