兰石村是吴川市兰石镇的镇中心村，位于吴川东北角，北面与茂名市郊接壤，镇政府所在的兰石圩即设于村内，村名也由此而来[1][2]。2020年11月，村子获评第六届全国文明村镇[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

建置上，1958年先称兰石大队（属茂名县），当年10月划归吴川县梅菉镇，12月隶兰石公社；其后依次改为乡委会（1983年）、管理会（1987年）、村委会（1998年）[1]。据博雅地名网，村有七百多年的建村历史，旧村区仍留有城堡式建筑的痕迹[2]。

经济[edit]

村内分7个村民小组，常住人口8000多，种养土地5000多亩，以农业收入为主；村民多从事建筑业，原兰石建筑公司后来发展为省级企业三穗公司[2]。

文化[edit]

村中旧时贡举秀才较多，出过“一门三贡”，武科有人任侍卫、亚元[2]。村内有一条“及第巷”，巷中的侍卫府、亚元府、进士府、时敏府四座府第建于清代中后期；另有强善斋、生春池馆、宪犀学馆三处旧书房[3]。村中设有文化公园和占地6000平方米的文化活动中心，诗社、曲艺社、舞狮队等团体活动不辍，并设慈善基金会和奖教奖学金[3]。

抗日战争时期，湛江市政府将村定为“抗日时期革命老区”，村人集资修建了烈士陵园和纪念碑[2]。
