村级建制的变化如下：为社山高级社（1957年）、为社山大队（1964年）、为乡委会（1983年）、为管理区（1988年）、全村迁出（1997年）、在塘㙍工业大道旁与塘㙍圩相接、改称社山村委会（1999年）[1]。
