新文社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：设立于文化大革命时期，取新文化、新气象之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1957年设隔塘居委会，1966年改称新文居委会，1983年改为新文管理区，1999年复称新文居委会。[1]

概况[edit]

新文社区成立于1964年，在吴川市区中心，面积1.2平方千米，常住约10800人，设5个居民小组。吴川市汽车总站、人民医院等在辖区内。[1]

辖区内有明代始建的梅菉镇古庙，另有「广东省民兵抗日自卫团第十区统率委员会旧址」和梅菉窑业旧址，均属吴川市重点文物保护单位。社区居民喜爱粤剧曲艺「私伙局」，也有飘色。[1]

2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
