梅北社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：位于梅菉街道辖区北面，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
梅北居委会设于1999年；之前1997年4月叫梅北管理区，1983年叫围兰埇管理区，1976年叫围兰埇大队，而1952年时只是梅菉镇梅岭大队的一部分。[1]
概况[edit]
梅北社区成立于1964年，面积0.98平方千米，约3300人，设2个居民小组，旧称「围兰埇」。[1]
据博雅地名网，明代把番薯从越南引入中国的林杯兰出生在此；社区制砖瓦的历史悠久，产品曾销往湛江、茂名一带。[1]
2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
