新家村为北和镇所辖行政村，在雷州市境内。[1]据博雅地名网，郭、辛两姓于南宋末年的1262年从福建莆田迁来，建了新家、里家两村；郭桂山第三子郭元锐一支，在明末1612年从新家村析出，另居调旦村。民国时期至1951年归第六者府，1951年组建经济合作社，1961年改称大队，1984年归格内乡，1989年为新家管理区，1999年定名新家村民委员会。[1]

据博雅地名网，郭、辛两姓于南宋末年的1262年从福建莆田迁来，建了新家、里家两村；郭桂山第三子郭元锐一支，在明末1612年从新家村析出，另居调旦村。民国时期至1951年归第六者府，1951年组建经济合作社，1961年改称大队，1984年归格内乡，1989年为新家管理区，1999年定名新家村民委员会。[1]

广东省2018年“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建名单（2019年9月公布）中有该村。[1]

2026年3月，新家村在广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇认定中入选。[1]
