康港社区在北和镇南端，因海康港得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
康港社区名称取自海康港：此港曾是雷州府海康所城的港口，故称康港。[1]
新中国成立后，这里先设海土区，之后改设康港乡；1961至1963年称海康港公社，1963年后并入北和公社（今北和镇）。1973年，海康港一带的古城被当作“四旧”拆毁。居民管理区的建制存在于1978至1993年，居委会的建制存在于1994至1999年，1999年起改称康港社区居民委员会。[1]
据快懂百科，海康港在北和镇南端，离北和圩约8公里，是一处渔港和小墟区，成港于明洪武二十七年（1394年）；海湾港池长1400米，航道平均水深2至3米。清康熙年间县城迁往今雷城，港口随之由盛转衰。[2]
