北和镇属雷州市，在湛江市境内的雷州半岛西南沿海，东邻龙门镇，南接乌石镇，北靠企水镇，西面临北部湾，镇政府设在北和圩。[1]全镇共有3个社区、28个行政村；按2020年的人口普查，常住人口62366人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

北和镇建于南宋末年，原称北和营，清康熙元年（1662年）迁到现址，1987年4月改设为镇。[1]镇名中的“北和”，据博雅地名网所述，来自旧称“北河”，明万历年间（1572年）因“河”“和”同音而改写。[2]

镇内的康港是一处老渔港，又称海康港，据快懂百科称成港于明洪武二十七年（1394年），旧时是雷州府海康所城的港口，清康熙年间县城迁往今雷城后渐趋衰落。[3]

北和镇地处雷州半岛西南沿海，百度百科记全镇面积为199.96平方千米，博雅地名网则记约189.73平方千米，两处数字不一。[1][4]

经济[edit]

据2019年的统计，镇内工业企业3个，规模以上的占2个；另有营业面积超50平方米的综合商店或超市1个。[1]镇内的红屋村、贤洋村于2021年9月列入广东省第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村名单，产品均为辣椒。[6][7]

名胜古迹[edit]

标角村的邓氏墓群始葬于宋代，保留元代石封墓五座和土堆墓两座，2001年8月17日公布为雷州市市级文物保护单位。[5]鹅感村在2014年被收入中国传统村落名录（第三批）。[8]

荣誉[edit]

镇上获过2022年湛江市文明镇和2023年广东省卫生乡镇的称号。[4]
