吉水社区是廉江市吉水镇的镇中心社区，属湛江市、广东省，在镇的西部，驻地在原吉水圩内。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区驻地原是吉水圩；圩名最初写作“急水”，因旁边的九洲江水流很急，后在光绪年间（1875年—1908年）改作吉祥的“吉”。社区居委会成立于1999年。[1]
地理环境[edit]
社区东邻良龙山村，南邻梧村垌村，西邻吉水村，北邻那楼寨村。社区的街巷有七条，计吉和路、吉祥路、吉庆路、老锅厂街，以及建设大道、吉河路和教师街。辖区总面积1平方千米，户数832、人口2987（据博雅地名网）；楼房以混凝土结构为主，省道遂六线（X679）由境内穿过。[1]
