名称由来[edit]

该村管辖4个自然村，即东门下村、金沟村、金钱窝下村和金钱窝上村，村名从中取“金”“门”二字拼成。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期到1951年归锦丰大队，1951至1957年归锦丰乡；金门大队在1958年成立；1984年3月至1986年归锦囊乡；1986年建金门村委会，1987年4月称金门管理区，1998年起成为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年1月，金门村在湛江市2020年度评选中入选「全市文明村」。[1]

2023年5月，金门村辖下的金沟村、金门村委下村、金门村委上村、东门下村被广东省爱卫会评为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]

在2019年9月公布的名单中，它是「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
