村名寓意锦绣华丽的市集。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

撤区并乡之后的1957年，这里办起锦市初级社和高级社；1958年8月成锦市大队；1980年同城内、金门两个大队合并为锦囊乡；1986年分出，建锦市村委会，1988年成为管理区，1999年起成为村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

在2019年9月公布的名单中，它是「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]

2026年3月，锦市村被认定为第三批「广东省百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
